Vicki and Paul have gone from being heartbroken at having to leave their rental property… to holding the keys to their perfect home!

This is their Snugg Homes story…

My partner Paul and I had been renting together for 15 years and had been in our previous house for 10 years – our son Thomas is 11, so it’s the only home he’d ever really known. We were understandably heartbroken when our landlord told us that they needed the house back due to a change in their circumstances, it was a very stressful time!

We never thought we would be able to buy our own a home because we had very little savings, which was a depressing thought at our age – I’m 47 and Paul is 50.

After lots of searching- we were struggling to find a rental property that we liked and in an area that we wanted. We had looked at Shared Ownership many years ago but hadn’t really followed it up – until now.

We couldn’t afford to buy a home outright, and the deposit needed was beyond our reach, but Shared Ownership offered us the same security, with a much smaller deposit, and we are still owners, albeit shared.

We had seen a house on Eaves Green that was perfect for us, our son had just started at a nearby High School (walking distance) and it was also close to my partners work, so when we first contacted Snugg Homes we literally had everything crossed!

We have only been in a few days, but we love it! The house is fab, it’s really quiet! Most importantly it’s ours! The development is quiet, and the house is well built – we were worried that we would be able to hear the neighbours through the walls – but we haven’t heard anything yet! The fittings are also good quality.

Snugg Homes have been amazing and Karen is lovely. To be honest we can’t quite believe how easy the whole process was, from start to finish it was around 8 weeks. Snugg kept us more up to date than our conveyancer and they were quick to answer any questions we had.
