This is her Snugg Homes story…

“I was previously living with parents, but often stayed with my boyfriend at a house he was renting from his grandparent.

After his grandparent decided he wished to sell the home, we thought the best thing for us to do was to get onto the property ladder ourselves.

I recently had a promotion at work, and my boyfriend had just started his own business, so I decided to get a mortgage on my own but with my boyfriend staying here with me.

After looking at the different options available, friends and family recommended Shared Ownership as a great route to home ownership.. 

As a first-time buyer, Shared Ownership has allowed me to get onto the property ladder with a much smaller deposit than a traditional mortgage, which has meant I could start the process much faster than I thought. I have purchased a smaller share initially, and my mortgage and rent is very manageable, and now I have the opportunity to save to buy more shares in the future, and reduce the rent I’m paying.

It’s been amazing having our own home, being able to decorate and enjoy creating a new space. We used to live 5 mins away from parents so moving away has been hard, but it’s so peaceful and rewarding and makes spending time with family and friends more important.

I love the houses and that we could choose the plot we wanted; I saw the house I wanted months before applications opened! I love the fact that the houses are modern, sleek and have fantastic kitchens. To top it off the house even has a downstairs toilet and en-suite! Only having one bathroom before, now seems crazy; it feels so luxurious. The garden is the perfect size and has been great for my little dachshund Frank as he loves to try and escape.

It has been such an exciting experience, Snugg Homes were there anytime I needed to ask questions or get any updates. They were great at explaining all the process and making sure I was comfortable. There was even a fabulous goody-bag was waiting for us when we walked through the door for the first time.”
