“Following a recent breakdown of a relationship, I left a rented property and temporarily moved into a house share; this meant I was able to save enough money to put a deposit down on a Shared Ownership property.

I’ve been wanting to get onto the property ladder for years, but unfortunately certain circumstances meant that this hadn’t been possible until now. 

A family member of mine had bought a Shared Ownership property some years ago and suggested I look into it. I signed up to newsletters and followed social media accounts, until I was contacted by Snugg Homes regarding the property I have subsequently purchased. 

I have purchased the house alone and I didn’t have the deposit or means to purchase 100% of a house, so Shared Ownership made the most sense; it was the best way for me to get onto the property ladder. Plus, I know I can always increase my share when it makes financial sense to me. 

My life has changed so much since moving into my property – for the last 10 years I have lived in rented accommodation, and there is always a level of uncertainty surrounding renting – will I be asked to leave, will there be large rent increases, etc. However, since moving in, I now feel completely secure and in control, there is such freedom and independence that comes with buying a property. 

I absolutely love my house. It is so spacious; the layout is brilliant and the garden is the perfect size for me. The finishes in the kitchen, bathroom and downstairs W/C are done to such a high spec.

Communication with the team was top notch, I was kept well informed at all stages of the process and even post-sale I felt supported.
