This is Megan’s Snugg Homes story

“Hi, I’m Megan and I’m a key worker working full time as a support worker for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Before the move I was living at my childhood home with my Mum and Stepdad.  I had been thinking about buying a house for a while, but didn’t have the money saved for a deposit, so I was working hard to save up and get the funds together.

I wasn’t in a rush to move out, but it just so happened that I fell in love with one of Snugg Homes’ properties.  So, from initially thinking I’d have to wait 12 months to save, turned into my taking the plunge after just three months!

A lot of my friends had bought houses through Shared Ownership and encouraged me to do the same. They had told me in great detail about what was involved, how it works and about their experiences.  Because I am living on my own, Shared Ownership was an affordable option for me, it also required a much smaller deposit than if I bought a house outright.  I did consider renting – but buying a house through Shared Ownership worked out cheaper than private monthly rent would have been. The scheme also enabled me to buy a bigger house that was more suitable for me and my situation.

I love my new home! It’s in a perfect location that is handy for work and is close to family and friends. I also like that this property is situated on a quiet road off the main new build estate – so the road doesn’t have much through traffic. The overall design and size of the house is also great and very spacious.

My experience with Snugg Homes was brilliant. When I first enquired, they sent me all the information straight away; it was also a quick turn around with all the forms and checks etc. I was kept up to date with my progress every step of the way – and if I had any questions or concerns, I had a named person to contact when needed.

Obviously, things haven’t been easy due to the on-going pandemic and I had to wait a while before I could view the house and reserve it, but this couldn’t be helped. Considering how difficult the last year has been, the service I have received has been brilliant, and I would highly recommend Snugg Homes to others!”
