Daniel has gone from dreaming about owning a home… to holding the keys!

This is his Snugg Homes story…

“My name is Daniel, I’m 37 years old, and I live on my own – but sometimes I get to share new home with my wonderful dog. 🐶

The catalyst for my move was the tough breakdown of my four year marriage – and anyone who has been through a similar situation, knows how hard that can be – and although the changes in my life were challenging, they focused my attention, and ensured that I invested time in me and my future.

So, I started looking forward, and because I had always dreamed of owning my own home, I saved every penny I could, and one year later, I bought my first house.

My initial knowledge of Shared Ownership just came from conversations with different people, but it seemed to be a more affordable way to get on the property ladder. Then when I started to think about it as a pottential option for me, I did some further research online.

These days, buying a house is pretty tough; you need big savings and a well-paid job. But Shared Ownership gives people a real chance to get on the property ladder. So when I was faced with starting from scratch aged 37; it was the perfect option for me.

I’m still in the early stages of adjusting to living on my own, but having my own space feels amazing. I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved in such a short time.

I love the house – it’s perfect for my needs. I also really like the development; being surrounded by new homes gives me a great feeling.
