Haider and his family purchased a share in a 3 bedroom semi-detached home in Gedling, Nottingham.

This is his Snugg Homes story…

“My name is Haider, and prior to moving I was living at my grandmothers house, but after my wife and I married, we really needed our own private space.

Whilst looking for a new house, we were told that there were affordable home buying schemes that were available to first time buyers. We started searching online, and found out about Shared Ownership on a 3rd party property search tool. 

We were initially looking for a rental house but the monthly cost was too high. Similarly, when we started looking for homes to buy, the monthly mortgage repayments were also too high (considering the deposit we had). Shared Ownership allowed us to pay cash for our share whilst having very affordable rent payments on the remaining share.

We now feel relaxed and settled into our first new home and very satisfied by that first new home feeling. 

The development is generally very nice and quiet after having lived on a busy road. The walks are amazing, there is lots of greenery to see. The area is a bit muddy at the moment but that’s understandable as there is lots of work still going on. It would be nice to have a small shop for groceries at walking distance for those early morning milk eggs and bread runs, but we are sure there will be one in the future.
