Lesley Mcilroy’s Snugg Homes Story…

“I think the area is great – convenient for shops, gym, work and the local transport is excellent too!” – Lesley Mcilroy, 64, Poulton-le-fylde.

Lesley has recently purchased a 75% share of a 3 bedroom, semi-detached home on Moorfield Park.

This is Lesley’s Snugg Homes story

“Last year my son-in-law went through chemotherapy for Leukaemia and moved his family, my daughter and their 4 boys, onto the Moorfield Park development.

My mother died in last July too, so with family firmly on my mind, I also made the decision to purchase a home on Moorfield Park.  It meant that I could support my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren – and be able to walk to work (at a nearby local high school).

After learning about Shared Ownership as a concept from my daughter, I did find the online application process a bit difficult, but at 64 years old, I am no expert when it comes to technology! But, my family helped me out when I was trying to navigate the forms etc.

I really love my new home – I have decorated and carpeted it, so I am very happy, even though I am still waiting for furniture to be delivered. Just a few ‘snags’ to sort out and then good to go! I think the area is great – convenient for shops, gym, work and local transport is excellent too (I don’t drive)!

I hope to purchase the remaining 25% share of my home when I retire in a couple of years. I live on my own but my family are literally doors away, so when lock-down is over, I know I won’t be lonely!”
