Annie’s Snugg Homes Story…

“Absolutely brilliant.  Every single person we dealt with was kind, friendly and efficient.”

– Annie, 71, Preston.

Annie and her partner Vivienne were full of praise after purchasing their new 3 bedroom property at Wrea Brook Park.

This is their Snugg Homes story…

After returning from living in Spain, we started living with friends (and paying rent) in Minehead, Somerset.  We had been there for a year, but our friends wanted to sell up, so we had a finite date by which we had to move out.

We decided we wanted to move back to the area we both know as home, which is Fylde.

We had been trying to source a mortgage to allow us to buy a property outright, but as an older couple, we were finding it impossible to borrow enough to enable this to happen.

One of the mortgage brokers we spoke to said Shared Ownership might be a good solution for us, so we set about researching whether we would qualify.

Given the current financial crisis in the U.K, renting privately was completely out of our reach, and so we decided to purchase a property through Shared Ownership, and we found the home for us at the Wrea Brook Park development in Preston.

Since moving we feel much more secure, the rent is affordable, and now that the mortgage rates have risen, we are relieved that we couldn’t get one the traditional way. We are very happy we are here, and grateful to have been given the opportunity to purchase a Shared Ownership home.

We think the house is great.  It’s warm and has everything we need and it’s especially nice to have a garden to work on.

The development is not quite finished yet, but it’s attractive and situated so that it’s semi-rural and quiet.  We are still getting used to living on an ‘estate’.  It would have been nice if there had been trees planted, but that would have been the icing on the cake. We just wish the shops were a bit closer.

The Snugg Homes service was absolutely brilliant.  Every single person we dealt with was kind, friendly and efficient.  A special thanks to Gemma and Samantha, who pulled out all the stops to make sure that we were able to get into our new home within a couple of days of being made homeless from our previous home in Minehead.

They answered all my queries quickly, no matter how daft some of them might have been.

The photo is of our dog Luca with his beloved Snugg bear from the gift set, he claimed it for himself the day we moved in.
