Sasha Glasgow’s Snugg Homes Story…
“With Shared Ownership you don’t need a massive deposit, and you can buy bit-by-bit; this was a massive draw for me, it felt possible…”
– Sasha, 39, Sutton Bonington
Sasha purchased a share in a beautiful 2 bedroom property on the Lime Gardens development in Nottinghamshire.
This is her Snugg Homes story…
“During the pandemic, my Dad became ill, and I moved back in with my parents in Bedfordshire. In 2023, I wanted to resume my life, and as a remote worker, I took the chance to rent all the way up in Durham! I had visited a friend for a week and loved it, and by the end of my stay, I already had several letting agent tabs open. I stayed there for a year, but long-term, I knew that it was just too far from family and friends.
I have long craved for a space to call my own, evident when my photo memories came up on Google and I would see all my searches for homes shows and properties going back years. But, as I was approaching 40, I realised that I wasn’t where I thought I would be in life, and not sure if I’d ever be able to achieve home ownership on my own, well at least not without a big shift in my career.
I had considered Shared Ownership, and even had friends who had bought using the scheme, but I kind of forgot about it until I drove past a development up in Durham and was reminded of the scheme. I logged back into my profile on the Share to Buy website, and found I’d been looking at properties in and around Leicestershire, which felt a lot closer to friends and family, with the added benefit of green spaces and modern conveniences nearby.
With Shared Ownership you don’t need a massive deposit, and you can buy bit-by-bit; this was a massive draw for me, it felt possible…
I now feel happy and safe. I love my home and I’ve finally achieved my goal of having my own space. I can invite friends over to stay, and finally return the hospitality that they have shown me over the years.
I love the development. It’s quiet, beautifully and considerately built and its a great space for walks to stretch my legs on breaks from work. The house has large proportions and is well-built. I’m really happy here and I’ve noticed that I’m even paying attention to my garden, which I never thought I’d say!
Snugg Homes were great. They kept me well informed throughout, were very warm and helpful. I’m really glad I’ve bought my home with them.”
